Project Terms

The simple terms for building your website with Clean Slate Studio.
By submitting a project brief and/or making payment, you agree to the terms below.

1. What we do

We design and build a website for your business based on the package you choose and the details in your brief. Anything outside your chosen package's scope can be added as a separate quote.

2. Pricing & payment

Our builds are flat, one-time fees (Starter, Standard, or Premium), paid in full up front before work begins. There are no subscriptions. New pages, features, or changes beyond your package are quoted separately.

3. Timeline

We aim to deliver within a few days of receiving your completed brief and all content. Timelines depend on you providing your content, photos, and feedback promptly.

4. Revisions

Included revision rounds by package: Starter — 1, Standard — 2, Premium — 3. A revision round is one consolidated set of change requests submitted together. Revisions refine the design and content within your agreed scope — new pages, added features, or a change in creative direction are quoted separately. Changes beyond your included rounds are billed at our standard update rates.

5. What you provide

You provide your content, photos (or ask us to use stock), and access to connect your domain, plus timely feedback. You confirm you own — or have permission to use — everything you give us, and you're responsible for that content.

6. Ownership

When your final payment clears, you own your finished website and its files outright. We may feature the finished site in our portfolio unless you ask us in writing not to.

7. Your domain & hosting

You own your own domain. We connect your site to it and get it live. After launch, we have no obligation to host, maintain, or update your site unless you arrange ongoing care separately. Future changes are available pay-as-you-go.

8. No guarantees

We build your site with care, but we don't guarantee specific business results, traffic, search rankings, or uninterrupted uptime. Hosting runs on a third-party platform, and we aren't responsible for their outages beyond reasonable effort.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to a project is limited to the amount you paid us, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages such as lost profits.

10. Cancellation & refunds

Because we begin work right away, payments are non-refundable once work has started. Instead of refunds, you're protected by the process: we build a full preview and refine it within your included revision rounds, and nothing goes live until you approve it. Changes beyond your included rounds are available as paid updates.

If you cancel before we've started, we refund you in full. If you cancel mid-project, the payment covers the work already completed. On completion or cancellation, we provide your site files so you can host them anywhere.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
